The Raised World

Two hands rise on either side of a red square. Between them a halftone field behaves like a market depth chart and like a night sky. The gesture is liturgical and technical: index and middle meet the thumb, both hands lift, the skull tilts toward the sky, speech issues a world, the hands leave it standing.

Three sentences run the upper register like a doctrine. The vision is drawn first in the skull — nothing is built until it has been seen as already finished. The word is material — speak only the world that must stand. The hand settles the field — when the hand releases, what remains is the piece.

This is the series’ metaphysics of issuance. Language does not describe the work. Language issues it. The protocol is private because the labor cannot be measured, but the instruction is public enough to be performed. Do not pull it back. The world remains raised.
